Our Purpose
To develop solutions for Integrated Pest Management with a high-quality standard and competitive value that allow us to be recognized as a benchmark within the industry.
Our Work
Together with our suppliers, distributors, producers and extension organizations, we work on the continuous improvement of our offering and products towards a healthier and more sustainable agriculture and environment.
Sustainable
Agriculture
It is an agriculture capable of supplying current food needs without jeopardizing the food supply of future generations.
The FAO (Food and Agriculture of the United Nations) defines it as:
“A regulating system of the populations of the different harmful agents that, taking into account their particular environment and the populations dynamics of the species considered, uses all the appropriate techniques and methods in a compatible way in order to maintain the populations of these harmful agents at levels that do not cause economic damage.”
This system completes the rationalization of chemical control in targeted control techniques with natural methods that satisfy economic, ecological and toxicological requirements with the following advantages:
- Use of less aggressive products for the environment
- Pesticide use and residue levels reduction
- Costs reduction in pest control
Integrated
Pest Management
It is the mechanism in which all available control techniques are evaluated and consolidated in a unified program in order to manage pest populations. It is about avoiding economic damage by minimizing the secondary effects of these actions on the environment.
To do this, the following guidelines should be considered:
- Correct identification of the pest insect: before any control measure, we must know the kind of insect we will find
- Description of the actual insect population through a monitoring system that allows us to quantify the populations of each kind at any time to determine the factors that cause their increase or decrease
- Climate monitoring system to be able to correctly interpret its correlation with the fluctuation of insect populations
- Interpretation of observed biological phenomena and development of pest management models
- Agricultural extension service that analyzes and translates Integrated Pest Management models into recommendations for producers
- Determined participation of the producer who applies the recommended techniques
Pests
Monitoring
Monitoring traps are widely used as part of Integrated Pest Management programs and these provide the user with the following information:
- Early detection of the presence of insects
- Detection of low levels of infestation that would otherwise go undetected
- Details of the distribution of insects
- Sources of infestation
- Optimal timing for control techniques
- Evaluation of the effectiveness of control measures
The information provided by a correct trapping system is simple, safe, economical and allows to:
- Reduce the use of insecticides and, therefore, their waste
- Reduce the impact on beneficial insects
- Reduce costs by making applications at the right times
